Sam Ponder is keeping former ESPN colleague David Pollack and his family in her prayers this week.
Pollack, who was a beloved analyst on “College GameDay,” revealed this week that his wife, Lindsey, will have to undergo surgery following her recent doctor’s visit. It’ll mark her third procedure since being diagnosed with brain cancer.
“We didn’t get the best news today at a doctors visit. Surgery #3 coming for my Babydoll(wifey). She looked at me and said God has been building me for this, And thank goodness its on a bye week so Nicholas doesn’t have game,” Pollack wrote on X. “No blink! No doubt! No fear! Just Jesus! Its humbling to watch. It doesn’t mean I’m not scared as hail, but man the Peace of God is incredible.”
Pollack continued, “She is weak right now, but our God isnt. If you are the praying type we will take em all.”
Shortly after Pollack posted this update online, he received a heartfelt response Ponder.
“Praying for healing, comfort, strength and peace that surpasses all understanding,” Ponder said. “So inspired by her faithfulness. We love you guys!”

College football community is rallying around Pollack.
Though it’s not a huge surprise, countless media members and college football fans have been offering their support to Pollack online.
“Praying fervently. So many others are too my brother,” ESPN host Rece Davis said.
“They’re all up for you and your Wife David,” Fox Sports broadcaster Tim Brando wrote. “You’ve always been one of my favorite Gwinnett County Boys! Keep us posted on her progress.”
“This is one of the most incredible posts I’ve read,” former Auburn coach Gene Chizik said. “Prayers and Blessings to your wife and family.”
We’re certainly hoping Pollack’s wife makes a full and speedy recovery.
