New Orleans Saints rookie Christen Miller has already won over the NFL community before he even steps on the field for his first game.
Miller, a former All-SEC defensive tackle at Georgia, was selected by the Saints with the 42nd overall pick in this year's draft. He had a great run with the Bulldogs, racking up 64 total tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss and four sacks.
With training camp set to begin this Wednesday for the Saints, it was revealed that Miller paid for a woman's groceries at Rouses in Metairie.
“A very large gentleman walked up behind me with one bag of fresh shrimp,” Leslie Pedigo wrote on Facebook. “I told the cashier, ‘Go ahead and ring him up first. He only has one item.’ He smiled and thanked me... then set his shrimp beside my groceries and told the cashier to ring everything together."
Even though Miller was told he didn't have to pay for the women's groceries, he kindly replied, "My mama always taught me to do good deeds, and I’d like to bless you today."
Winning over NFL fans.
This act of kindness from Miller led to him receiving plenty of praise from football fans on social media.
"That's beautiful man, glad to see the young guys making huge impacts outside of football already," one fan wrote on X.
"This is awesome," a second fan said. "Will definitely be rooted for him from now on."
"Need more stuff like this to be publicized," another fan commented.
"Dawg! He almost didn’t make it through in his early career at Georgia. Kirby kept pushing him, and he flourished. Great kid, graduated, and he is a fantastic player to boot. Proud of you, kid," a Georgia fan added.
Miller will have the chance to showcase his skills at training camp over the next month. As for his personality off the field, it's safe to say he's made of the right stuff.
