The promising 1-1 start that saw the New Orleans Saints’ offense rolling on all cylinders seems like a distant memory after today’s brutal loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
On a day where the Saints inducted team legend Drew Brees into their Ring of Honor, Kellen Moore’s offense couldn’t even muster 100 passing yards. QB Tyler Shough completed 16 of 25 passes for just 96 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions.
The Vikings went on to beat them 23-13. But while Shough has some benefit of the doubt over his inexperience, Saints fans are showing Moore absolutely no mercy in the aftermath of today’s game.
Fans Fed Up
Saints fans made it pretty clear that they are done with Moore, who is now 7-15 as a head coach and has yet to get the team above .500 for even a single week since taking over the team last year.
“I said it last week; I’ll say it again, I am out on Kellen Moore. Until proven otherwise I am on the (expletive) hate train. We as a whole city hell even state deserve way better than this shit. WE HAD 3 (expletive) HOME GAMES IN A ROW AND WENT 0-3,” one angry user declared.
“I thought that Dennis Allen was bad, then Kellen Moore said – here – hold my beer!” wrote another.
“Get kellen moore out the building, and ship em back to philly. Get a coach that isn’t as bland as a plain bagel, and can cook up and scheme things,” a third wrote.
“Kellen Moore might be worse than Dennis Allen….and I couldn’t stand Dennis Allen.”

The last two losses have been downright embarrassing for the Saints. To get blown out by the arch-rival Atlanta Falcons on the 20-year anniversary of the Superdome reopening after Hurricane Katrina, and then to put up a lifeless performance on offense on the same day Brees was immortalized in the team’s Ring of Honor, fans – and perhaps ownership – aren’t going to let that slide.
The Saints have a road game against the New York Giants next week in what will probably be their last chance to salvage this season. If they don’t, Moore’s seat could start heating up in the second half of the season.
