Former NFL star Jason Kelce didn’t exactly hide his love for the Philadelphia Eagles during this past Monday night’s game against the Chicago Bears.
After the Eagles fell behind 10-7 at halftime against the Bears, Kelce shared his thoughts during ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” broadcast. He referred to the Eagles as “we” throughout his assessment.
“I feel pretty good going into the half. We played really well offensively,” Kelce said. “We had opportunities. We shot ourselves in the foot. But we moved the ball – we can the ball well, Jalen Hurts threw the ball well. I feel like they got a lot of momentum going into the second half.”

After Pat McAfee called out Kelce for saying “we” a lot during his halftime analysis, the future Hall of Famer apologized several times.
Kelce’s former “Monday Night Countdown” colleague, Ryan Clark, had no issue with Kelce constantly referring to the Eagles as “we.” In fact, he encouraged him to keep doing it when covering Eagles games.
“I’m trying to mind my own, but hell yea it’s ‘We’ Future Hall of Famer!! You’re a legend @JasonKelce. Blood, sweat, tears, & glory in Philly,” Clark wrote on social media. “No one can take that away. You can still do your job the right way! Bump anyone saying differently.”
Can you blame Jason Kelce?
While broadcasters are supposed to be neutral when covering a sporting event, it’s hard to ignore Kelce’s history with the Eagles.
Kelce, a Super Bowl champion and seven-time Pro Bowler, spent his entire NFL career in Philadelphia. His bond with the fan base and franchise has lasted for well over a decade and shows zero signs of falling apart.
So while it may not be conventional, we totally understand why Kelce slipped up during Monday’s broadcast.
