Whether he understands it or not, New England Patriots wide receiver Romeo Doubs faces the most pivotal point in his National Football League career.
Yes, four-plus seasons into his career, with four playoff starts under his belt, Doubs has never felt the weight of all New England on him like it is now with A.J. Brown shelved for at least four weeks – possibly six, according to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

So good when it counts
On the plus side is just how good Doubs has been in his Green Bay Packer days with the pressure on.
His playoff prowess should tell you about the player he is when games and seasons are on the line.
A veteran of 60 games with 50 starts, Doubs has never had a regular-season 100-yard receiving game.
But the playoffs are a much different story.
Huge postseason numbers
He opened his postseason career in 2023 with a six-catch, 151-yard performance against Dallas. He followed that up with 4 for 83 against the Niners – two games, 12 targets, 10 catches, 234 yards and a TD.
After a downer vs. Philly in the 2024 playoffs (2 catches, 13 yards on two targets), Doubs was again a lethal weapon last January in a loss to the Bears, with eight grabs for 124 yards and a TD.
In his four playoff games, Doubs has caught 20 of the 25 balls tossed his way, good for a phenomenal 14.8 yards per attempt.

This is a player who likes the big stage. With a loss Sunday bringing a 0-4 Patriots start into the scenario, there is no bigger stage than this or the reigning AFC champs.
Doubs knows it.
Putting things on his shoulders
“I’ve just got to be better,” he said. “Part of my job as a player is to make this team better, and I’ll be better moving forward.”
Where is he, following the dreadful three-target, zero-catch, one-drop performance vs. Seattle?
“He dropped a pass. You know what I mean? Guys, everybody drops a pass. Everybody misses a tackle. You talk to him the same way you always talk to him,” said coach Mike Vrabel.
“Figure out a way to make a play to help us win, and he did a lot of great things during camp, just like everybody did. And so, I know he’s excited to get back out there, get to work and to find a way to help us win.”
