Roman Reigns Snapped — Did He Just Turn Heel Before WrestleMania?

A high-intensity, medium shot of WWE Superstar Roman Reigns walking near the ringside area during an episode of Monday Night Raw. He has a fierce, snarling expression on his face, long damp hair, and a groomed beard. He is wearing a white t-shirt featuring his "Original Tribal Chief" (OTC) logo. The background shows the ring ropes, "RAW" branded LED boards, and a blurred, crowded arena audience.

Roman Reigns just shifted his rivalry with CM Punk into a new gear.

After weeks of trading verbal shots with little physical fallout, Reigns finally exploded—at the urging of Jey Uso.

The returned intensity, combined with Reigns’ reunion with The Usos, has sparked a familiar question: has Roman officially turned heel?

It’s a fair question—but it misses the bigger picture.

Roman Reigns never truly turned babyface.

Since WrestleMania 40—when he lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes, ending his historic 1,316-day reign—Reigns has existed in a space beyond traditional alignment. He’s been neither hero nor villain. He’s been something else entirely.

In the same way, The Bloodline didn’t die—it evolved.

It was never just a faction; it was family. And in WWE storytelling, family cannot end with a match or a moment—it always lingers, reshapes, and returns.

That’s what makes this reunion with The Usos so compelling as they now stand opposite Punk.

On Raw, it was Jey stepping back into his “Right Hand Man” role, lighting the fuse that pushed Reigns over the edge. That dynamic alone suggests this story is far from finished.

When it comes to WrestleMania, it’s hard to imagine The Usos not playing a major role.

How Old Is Roman Reigns?

Reigns is 40 years old—ironically just seven years younger than Punk—but there’s little to suggest he’s slowing down. If anything, he’s still operating at the peak of his powers, both physically and as a performer.

When Is WrestleMania 42?

WrestleMania 42 takes place Saturday, April 18, and Sunday, April 19, with Reigns and Punk expected to headline night two.

And if this latest chapter proved anything, it’s that whatever version of Roman Reigns shows up—heel, face, or something in between—he’s still the center of the entire story.
