Roman Reigns’ next World Heavyweight Championship challenger is set.
Reigns successfully defended his title against Penta in the main event of Monday’s WWE Raw in Mexico City, closing an electric night inside Arena CDMX. And while it may be early to start handing out awards, Reigns vs. Penta deserves to be in the Match of the Year conversation.
There was no post-match angle on the Netflix broadcast, despite Reigns having plenty of enemies waiting in the wings. WWE instead allowed the moment with Penta and the Mexico City crowd to breathe before Raw went off the air.
But the action didn’t end there.
LA Knight attacked Reigns after the show, and the World Heavyweight Champion later responded in a seemingly innocuous social media video with a message that made their next match clear.

Roman Reigns Grants LA Knight a Match at Money in the Bank
After Raw went off the air, LA Knight confronted Roman Reigns.
Referring to Knight as one of the “beggars” coming after his championship, Reigns granted him the match in typical Roman fashion.
WWE made the right decision to run this on social media instead of the Netflix broadcast. Penta vs. Roman was a beautiful match, and it deserved room to breathe.
Knight finally gets his one-on-one match with Reigns, but expectations are already low that he’ll pull out a win.
Je’Von Evans and Lola Vice Qualify for Money in the Bank
Reigns vs. Knight wasn’t the only Money in the Bank development Monday night.
Je’Von Evans qualified for the men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match, joining Bron Breakker in the field.
On the women’s side, Lola Vice made an immediate impact in her Raw in-ring debut, qualifying for the women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. She joins Sol Ruca, who had already punched her ticket to the match.
With Evans and Vice advancing, both Money in the Bank fields are beginning to take shape as WWE moves toward its next premium live event.
When Is WWE Money in the Bank 2026?
