WWE Worlds Collide is taking place Saturday night in the Chicago area, but fans around the world will have to wait several days to actually watch it.
According to a new report from Fightful Select, that may have been intentional.
Fightful reports that WWE decided not to broadcast Worlds Collide live in an effort to impact ticket sales for AEW All Out, which is also taking place Saturday night in the Chicago area. The outlet reports that the decision was made by early August and that WWE sources acknowledged AEW sold better than expected.
If that reporting is accurate, it feels like another strange, unnecessarily fan-unfriendly decision from WWE under TKO.

WWE’s Decision Doesn’t Make Much Sense for Fans
I don’t want to make this into a bigger deal than it is. Worlds Collide isn’t a traditional WWE premium live event, and waiting a few days to watch a wrestling show isn’t the end of the world. Still, the decision is difficult to understand from a fan’s perspective.
Last year’s Worlds Collide streamed live on YouTube, as have WWE and AAA’s other major events. WWE has also spent weeks promoting Saturday’s show on television, with CM Punk, Rey Mysterio, Penta, Rey Fenix and other major stars advertised.
Yet fans who aren’t inside Allstate Arena can’t watch the show as it happens.
There would at least be an obvious business explanation if WWE were withholding Worlds Collide to make it exclusive to Club WWE or another paid platform. Instead, the show is still going to YouTube — the same platform WWE has regularly used for AAA programming — just four days later.
If the reported goal really was to affect AEW’s ticket sales, WWE inconvenienced its own fans to potentially make another wrestling company’s life a little more difficult.
That’s a strange tradeoff.
