Even if Aaron Rodgers decides to play football this fall, there's no guarantee it'll be with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Rodgers is no longer playing at an MVP level, but he proved last season that he can still get the job done. The future Hall of Famer completed 66.5% of his passes for 3,327 yards with 24 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
The Steelers were hopeful that Rodgers would make a decision on the 2026 season before the NFL Draft. Well, all seven rounds came and went without him informing the team of his plans. That left Pittsburgh with no choice but to use the UFA tender on him.
Since the Steelers used a UFA tender on Rodgers, they'll have exclusive negotiating rights if he fails to sign with another team by July 22.

That being said, Johnny Venerable of PHNX Sports is reporting that Rodgers might consider signing with the Arizona Cardinals.
"According to one insider, it's possible that Aaron Rodgers is waiting to resign with Pittsburgh...in favor of playing for the Cardinals?" Venerable wrote on social media Wednesday night.
Rodgers has a clear connection with Arizona's coaching staff.
A little over two months ago, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk pointed out that Rodgers has a strong connection with Cardinals offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. It's also worth pointing out his ties with head coach Mike LaFleur.
"New coach Mike LaFleur most recently served as offensive coordinator of the Rams, and Rodgers was reportedly the Plan B for the Rams if Matthew Stafford had left in 2025," Florio wrote. "LaFleur’s brother, Matt, coached Rodgers for four years in Green Bay."
As for offensive weapons, Arizona could offer Rodgers the chance to play with potential-packed running back Jeremiyah Love and All-Pro tight end Trey McBride. Their offense also has a respectable wide receiver duo in Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson.
