WNBA star Sophie Cunningham has been all over the news lately.
The veteran WNBA guard went viral for her comments on transgender athletes in a profile for ESPN. Cunningham said that it should be "common sense" to keep transgender athletes outside of women's sports. The Indiana Fever guard told ESPN that she wants to “protect young girls in the locker room” and that “they shouldn’t have to go against biological men.”
Cunningham then doubled down while speaking to reporters.
“I said what I said. I think it’s kind of common sense,” Cunningham said. “And I think I’ll always believe in that. I think it’s really important to protect children, and that’s little girls who are also involved in that category. I stand on what I said.”
In the wake of all of this, Cunningham has become one of the most-talked about players in all of sports. And she's looking to capitalize off of it.

Cunningham could be in line for a huge payday, too.
The veteran WNBA guard is reportedly shopping a "tell-all" book that would likely land her a seven-figure payday.
Details emerge from Cunningham's book shopping
Page Six reported the big news on Monday.
"The 6-foot-1 guard — who has 3.7 million followers on Instagram — could find herself at the center of a bidding war, we hear, with the timely tome," they reported.
"This month, reports said that her new Adidas shoes sold out immediately, and that she currently has two of the top five best selling WNBA jerseys. A rep for Cunningham did not immediately get back to us."
Cunnigham's book would likely hit big, if it hits bookshelves soon, anyway. The time is clearly now for her to capitalize financially.
