Report: Savannah Guthrie's Future At NBC Has Been Decided

Unfortunately, the past three weeks for NBC anchor Savannah Guthrie have been nothing short of a nightmare.

On Feb. 1, the Pima County Sheriff's Office announced that Savannah's mother, Nancy, went missing. She was last seen outside of her home in Arizona on Jan. 31. There were reports that Guthrie's family received ransom notes in regards to her mother's disappearance.

A week ago, the FBI released black-and-white photos as well as three videos of an unidentified person at Nancy Guthrie’s front door.

“Over the last eight days, the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department have been working closely with our private sector partners to continue to recover any images or video footage from Nancy Guthrie’s home that may have been lost, corrupted, or inaccessible due to a variety of factors – including the removal of recording devices. The video was recovered from residual data located in backend systems,” FBI Director Kash Patel said. “Working with our partners – as of this morning, law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door the morning of her disappearance. Anyone with information, please contact 1-800-CALL-FBI or visit http://tips.fbi.gov.”

The latest update on Nancy Guthrie is that investigators are analyzing DNA that was found at her residence. It's unclear if that'll be the turning point in this case.

All we know for now is that all members of the Guthrie family have been cleared as potential suspects.

Done with NBC?

Savannah Guthrie has been such a steady force on NBC's "Today," so her absence is certainly being felt. That being said, it's possible viewers have seen the last of her broadcasting career.

According to Status News, there's a good chance Guthrie never returns to "Today." She's been part of the morning show on NBC since 2012.

"There’s no way Savannah’s coming back," one source told Status News. "I can’t imagine she would even want to."

We're certainly wishing Guthrie all the best as she navigates through this awful situation.
