With Stefon Diggs out of the picture, the New England Patriots might be a real suitor for Philadelphia Eagles star A.J. Brown.

Brown has been outstanding for the Eagles since joining them in 2022, hauling in 339 passes for 5,034 yards and 32 touchdowns. Despite winning a Super Bowl and putting up Pro Bowl-caliber numbers, Brown seemed awfully frustrated with Philadelphia's coaching staff this past season.

Although an argument can be made that moving on from Brown would be best for the Eagles, getting rid of him would result in the front office taking on $43.5 million in dead money. While that's not ideal for the Eagles, that hasn't stopped teams in showing interest in their No. 1 wideout.

Ben Belford-Peltzman of Pro Football & Sports Network is reporting that New England has called Philadelphia to make an offer on Brown. The terms of that trade offer aren't known at this time.

What will it cost to get A.J. Brown?

According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the Eagles would like to receive a first-rounder and a second-round pick in return for Brown. It's unclear if the Patriots are willing to pay such a steep price.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Dan Graziano, Tim McManus, Ben Solak and Seth Walder recently put together a list of potential trade packages involving Brown. They have the Patriots sending their 2026 first-round pick in this hypothetical deal.

Suffice to say, the Patriots will have to part ways with at least a Day 1 pick if they want to acquire Brown.
