Tom Brady and Matt Ryan’s careers are crossing paths once again. Only this time, the league appears to be more worried about what Matt Ryan is building in Atlanta.
Both former quarterbacks have moved into executive positions since retirement, with Brady purchasing a stake in the Raiders and Ryan being named the Falcons president of football.
But according to PFT’s Mike Florio, one coach believes it’s Ryan that poses the greater threat when it comes to team building and management.

NFL teams more ‘concerned’ with Matt Ryan’s success than Tom Brady’s
In a conversation with Chris Simms on their “PFT Live” show, Florio shared some of the rumblings he’s heard in regards to Brady and Ryan in this second phase of their careers — and how Ryan is considered scarier in the front office because he’s “all in.”
“I did hear from one coach that was like, ‘Hey, quit complaining about Brady. We like this. Brady is spread too thin’” Florio said. “Now, the Raiders are 3–1, so in the short-term, the theory is being challenged, but Brady’s not all in.”
“Go ahead. Let him do all of the stuff he’s going to do. Let him walk the runway. Let him do Gucci ads. Let him advertise watches. Let him do this, let him do that. Let him work for FOX while he’s supposedly running the Raiders,” the PFT founder continued. “But Matt Ryan’s the one I’m concerned about. Because he’s there. He’s there all the time. He’s getting himself fully immersed.”
“He’s all in with the Falcons, and there are teams that are concerned about it.”
Like Brady, Ryan was also working in broadcasting before he took the job, but ultimately decided he’d be better served having his sole focus be on the Falcons. And so far, the results are speaking for themselves.
