Greg Olsen might just replace Tony Romo as the lead NFL analyst for CBS Sports.
Romo was recently arrested in Wisconsin on suspicion of operating while under the influence. According to the California Post, the police found an open bottle of booze in his vehicle.
CBS announced last Friday that Romo has been placed on leave until further notice. While he's sidelined, J.J. Watt will step in and serve as the color commentator alongside Jim Nantz.
According to Puck’s John Ourand, CBS won't just consider Watt as the full-time replacement for Romo. There's a chance the network makes a run at Olsen in the near future.
“Watt is one name, and the other is Greg Olsen, a broadcasting superstar who has many fans out there who love him on the air,” Ourand wrote. “You’ll recall Olsen was demoted when Tom Brady took over Fox’s No. 1 job.”

Greg Olsen would be an excellent addition to CBS.
Even though Olsen is no longer part of FOX's No. 1 broadcast crew, he won a Sports Emmy this year for "Outstanding Personality – Event Analyst."
As for Olsen's future in the broadcast booth, he's been open about wanting to call big games again.
“I still seek to go out and reach the highest levels of this profession and in no means does that mean that I want it to be at the expense of Tom [Brady]. And Tom wants to continue to ascend and achieve everything he wants, that doesn’t have to come at the expense of me,” Olsen said. “My success is not contingent on Tom’s failure, and vice versa. I’m thankful for FOX, they believed in me… I want to be very crystal clear. Do I want to call top games? Of course. We all have aspirations to be as good as we possibly can, or else we’re wasting our time.”
We'll see if CBS strikes a deal with Olsen in the next year or so.
