Red Bull Racing has suffered another blow ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix, as long-time mechanic Ole Schack is set to depart at the end of the 2026 season, and Max Verstappen admits he is tired of the constant engine problems.

Schack, who is one of Red Bull's most experienced mechanics and a trusted member of Verstappen's team, will be leaving Formula 1 after the Brazilian Grand Prix.

The Dane has been with the team since its inaugural race in 2005, joining Jaguar Racing in 2004 when the Milton Keynes team became Red Bull. The move was reportedly for personal reasons, and Schack decided to spend more time in his native Denmark.

Schack has been instrumental in Red Bull's transformation from midfield contender to multiple world championship-winning team, alongside Verstappen in his four title-winning campaigns.

His departure is the latest in a series of high-profile personnel changes in Red Bull over the last two seasons. The team has yet to comment on his departure, but Schack's experience and longevity have made him one of the most respected mechanics in the paddock.

Max Verstappen Admits He's "Fed Up" With Engine Problems

As Verstappen has been expressing his frustration with Red Bull's technical problems, especially with the power unit, Schack's imminent departure is no surprise.

Before the Hungarian Grand Prix, Verstappen acknowledged that the ongoing debate about engine issues is getting tedious.

"I'm fed up with complaining already," Verstappen said. "It's already hard enough just having to drive."

The four-time world champion has been stressing the point that he'd prefer to get performance out of the car rather than talk about reliability issues every race weekend. His remarks come after a tough period for Red Bull, which has not been able to keep pace with Mercedes and Ferrari, and reignited speculation about Verstappen's future.

However, Verstappen is still signed with Red Bull until 2028. Team boss Laurent Mekies has also brushed aside recent transfer rumours, stating that it is only natural that the world's best driver gets attention from other teams.

Red Bull is about to embark on another important race weekend at the Hungarian GP, and the team has big challenges to overcome.
