Indiana Fever rookie Raven Johnson called Caitlin Clark a veteran after the Fever beat the Las Vegas Aces in Game 2.
The Fever turned things around after their Game 1 loss to the Aces in their first-round WNBA playoff matchup.
Clark spearheaded the team’s offense in Game 2 with a double-double of 27 points and 15 assists to secure the 99-89 win.
During her postgame interview, Johnson praised Clark and the rest of her teammates. In doing so, the rookie labeled Clark a veteran.
“I think when you’re playing with vets like Caitlin, Kelsey (Mitchell) and Aliyah (Boston),” Johnson started at the 10:28 mark.
Clark interrupted Johnson’s message by highlighting what the rookie just said about her.
“First time I’ve been called a vet. Thanks, Ray,” Clark responded with a smile, tapping her teammate on the back.
Clark’s reaction made Johnson take back her comment immediately.
“Okay, not vets,” Johnson said, laughing.

The two-time NCAA champion with the South Carolina Gamecocks proceeded with her response after the lighthearted exchange.
“But when you play with vets like them, when they lose, they get back to the drawing board, and they make sure they’re on their P’s and Q’s,” Johnson continued.
“They make sure they’re staying on us. Caitlin (is) always in my ear. Even in the game, even when I make mistakes, and I beat myself up, she’s always there, always in my ear.”
Johnson, Clark and the rest of the Fever now are looking to complete their series comeback on Thursday when they head back to Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas for Game 3.
