When most people that are even mildly engaged with politics see the abbreviation "AOC," they probably think of U.S. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Not Las Vegas Raiders analyst Kirk Morrison.
During last night's preseason game between the Raiders and the Arizona Cardinals, the Raiders offense was being led by veteran QB Aidan O'Connell. Morrison, a former Raiders linebacker, remarked that whenever he sees "AOC" on social media, he thinks people are talking about O'Connell and always winds up getting disappointed when he sees it's just people talking about politics.
"It's just funny, because I go on social media, and you see AOC is trending. And I'm like, 'Oh my god.' I go straight to Aidan O'Connell. And I realize, 'Oh, it's some politics stuff,'" Morrison said, drawing a laugh from his broadcast partner.
Aidan or Alexandria?
Plenty of NFL fans got a big laugh out of Morrison's comment, some started finding clever or just silly ways to compare the two.
"If you have two AOCs you don’t have one," one user on X joked.
"You know how committed to the team you gotta be to assume AOC trending is because of Aiden O'Connell? I respect the hell out of that tbh," wrote another.
"When I hear 'AOC' I think about the Architect of the Capitol," a third joked.
"Now that’s a guy I want working in the game of football. Literally oblivious to anything else."
"Football guy… Jon Rothstein like."

Morrison is probably one in a million people who has such thoughts. Ocasio-Cortez has been a political figure for far longer than O'Connell has been in the NFL.
But there's absolutely nothing wrong with keeping a social media feed as politics-free as possible.
