R-Truth appears to be doing well after suffering an injury during Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown, and unsurprisingly, he found a way to make fans laugh while providing an update.
Truth shared a photo on Instagram Monday showing himself in a hospital gown standing next to an MRI machine. He thanked fans for their concern before jokingly placing the blame for his situation on Damian Priest.
“I AM OK, Thank you ALL for your support, concerns and get well wishes,” Truth wrote. “It truly feels amazing to feel and be loved. I’m grateful for you all.”
He then added: “On 10/16/2026 I almost passed away… Damien Priest tried to kill me… I didn’t think he was ThAt serious… But ok, I’ll be back.”

R-Truth Was Injured During Match With Damian Priest
The injury occurred during Truth’s match against Priest on the Oct. 16 episode of SmackDown. The match was stopped after Truth went down following a top-rope dropkick and was unable to continue, resulting in Priest being awarded the victory by referee stoppage.
The scene immediately created concern about Truth’s condition, particularly because the stoppage did not appear to be part of the planned finish.
His latest update is therefore welcome news. While Truth did not provide specifics about the nature or severity of the injury, his message makes clear that he expects to return.
The 54-year-old also managed to turn a legitimate injury scare into another chapter of his ongoing comedic relationship with Priest. For now, the most important part of the update is simple: R-Truth says he is OK and plans to be back.
