Zaire Wade, the son of Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade, has been in the headlines for the wrong reasons over the past month.
Wade was arrested and booked on suspicion of domestic violence on June 21 after allegedly being involved in a physical altercation with someone he was dating. According to NBC4 Los Angeles, the authorities found a woman at the scene with lacerations on her face and body.
"The alleged altercation unfolded in Burbank, California, where officers responded at approximately 5:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a woman screaming, NBC Los Angeles reported, citing police sources. Investigators allegedly found the woman with cuts to her face and body, though she did not require hospitalization," LA Magazine reported. "The complaint contains just one criminal count but also includes several sentencing allegations that prosecutors could rely upon if Wade is convicted. Those allegations claim the offense involved a high degree of cruelty or violence, that Wade allegedly took advantage of a position of trust and confidence, that the alleged victim was particularly vulnerable, and that his conduct indicated a serious danger to society."
As if this situation wasn't concerning enough, prosecutors revealed this week that an unregistered gun was found in Wade's home in Burbank. This discovery was made after the former Sierra Canyon star was arrested.

An emergency protective order has already been issued for the alleged victim, which means Wade must stay away from her until further notice. The NBA legend's son has also been forced to surrender all his firearms.
If Wade is convicted, he could spend up to four years in California state prison. He could also receive a fine of up to $6,000.
As of this time, Wade's preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 24.
