President Donald Trump is facing some blame for New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart’s potential season-ending knee injury.
During Monday night’s game against the Los Angeles Rams, Dart suffered a knee injury on the opening series. Although the belief was that he’d only miss a few weeks, the recent imaging done on his left knee wasn’t encouraging.

It didn’t take long for fans to blame the “Trump curse” for Dart’s injury.

Back in May, the talented quarterback from Ole Miss introduced Trump at a campaign event at Rockland Community College. While at the event, Dart received an odd compliment from the president of the United States.
“I’m looking at Jaxson – is there any woman in the audience that thinks they can tackle that guy? I’d like to meet you,” Trump said. “I’d like to shake your hand. I don’t know. Jaxson, do you think you can play against women okay? Don’t get involved, Jaxson. Don’t answer that. I’m looking at the legs there. He’s this beautiful guy. He’s got legs like tree trunks. This is not a good thing for women.”
Fans are revisiting that remark from Trump now that Dart’s out with a knee injury.
Brutal hit to the Giants.
Dart kicked off his 2026 season with an epic Week 1 performance, completing 23 of 29 pass attempts for 230 yards with three touchdowns in a statement win over the Dallas Cowboys.
With Dart sidelined indefinitely, the Giants will start Jameis Winston at quarterback. Though he’s a respectable backup, he’s definitely viewed as a downgrade from Dart.
The Giants will return to action this Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.
