President Donald Trump is renown for insulting his enemies to their faces but he's not above ribbing his friends when they're standing next to him at a podium. FIFA President Gianni Infantino was reminded of that this week.
During a joint speech by President Trump and Infantino today, Infantino declared that FIFA is "the official happiness provider to humanity." President Trump, seeing a golden opportunity to make a joke, cupped his hands together and yelled this to the crowd:
"Unless your team loses," Trump joked, drawing a laugh from Infantino and the assembled crowd.
FIFA has long been accused of rigging games in favor of preferred outcomes and this World Cup has been no different. The game that many fans look back on is the Argentina-Cape Verde game, which saw the officials give some very favorable calls to the reigning World Cup champions while the tiny island nation was trying to build momentum for an historic upset.
Fans couldn't help but applaud President Trump for seemingly throwing the corruption allegations right into Infantino's face:
"Trump really added live commentary like he was in the replies section," one user remarked.
"EVEN DONALD TRUMP IS CALLING OUT THIS FRAUD," wrote another.
"The fact that trump is literally the worse but also the only one saying stuff a lot of people think but don't dare saying out loud is wild (gemini's duality)," a third wrote.
"You got to give him credit, this is (expletive) hilarious."
"They say real recognizes real. In this case, fraud recognizes fraud."

The 2026 FIFA World Cup Final is on Sunday and will pit Argentina against 2010 champion Spain in a matchup of an unstoppable force (Messi) against an immovable object (Spain's defense).
However, there are some questions with just 24 hours until kickoff due to issues with smoke coming down from Canadian wildfires and threatening the air quality at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Hopefully there aren't any surprises between now and then.
