President Trump has reacted to the back-to-back Masters wins for Rory McIlroy.
The Northern Ireland golf star finished The Masters at -12, defeating top competitors like Scottie Scheffler, Justin Rose and Cameron Young, among others. It's McIlroy's second straight Masters win, as he won for the first time in 2025.
McIlroy received a special congratulations message from the President of the United States following his win.
"Congratulations to Rory McIlroy on another Great Championship, The Masters! He performed tremendously under intense pressure, something which few people would be able to even think about doing. With each year, Rory is becoming more and more a LEGEND!" Trump wrote in a post to Truth Social on Sunday evening.
President Trump is looking forward to watching McIlroy compete in Florida soon, too.
"I look forward to watching him compete in two weeks at Doral. The quality of Professional Golfers today has become extraordinary, each and every one of them. They should all be proud of the way they played at The Masters this weekend!"
President Trump has long been a fan of McIlroy
President Trump had some special words for McIlroy following his win in 2025, too.
"I have to congratulate Rory, he showed tremendous courage," Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One in April 2025. "He was having a hard time, but he showed great guts, stamina and courage. People have no idea how tough that is... and (he) came back."
McIlroy is the first golfer to win back-to-back Masters championships since Tiger Woods, more than 20 years ago.
