Apparently, President Donald Trump is enjoying the 2026 college football season.
Last Saturday, the 47th president of the United States took a trip to Neyland Stadium to watch Texas and Tennessee square off in a top-25 showdown. Longhorns pass rusher Colin Simmons put on a show in Knoxville, racking up 5.5 sacks in a 20-17 win over the Volunteers.
During the first quarter of the Texas-Tennessee game, Trump was shown on the big screen and received a fairly warm response from the crowd. ABC’s broadcast also had the cameras on Trump early in the game.
So what’s next for Trump? He confirmed at a rally Friday night that he’ll attend a Week 6 showdown between No. 2 Georgia and No. 7 Alabama.
“I love the people of Alabama… we love Alabama. We love it so much that I’ll be here again next Saturday to watch a football game between Georgia and Alabama. They say it’s gonna be a good game. I would think so,” Trump said. “One is rated No. 2 and the other is No. 7, but that doesn’t matter too much. So let’s say will Alabama or Georgia win that game?”
Obviously, the crowd in Mobile said they’re pulling for the Crimson Tide.

Alabama and Georgia may want to brace for communication issues.
Prior to the Texas-Tennessee game, Steve Sarkisian told reporters that Trump’s presence could lead to issues for coaching staffs since communication inside the stadium gets cut off when the president switches locations.
“A good friend of mine is Mario Cristobal,” said Sarkisian. “Last year, when they were playing Indiana in the national championship, they had that drive at the end of that game—they had no communications because he was leaving early before the game ended. You get no warning. It just cuts out. You have to be prepared for that.”
We’ll see if Kalen DeBoer and Kirby Smart have to overcome communication issues next Saturday.
