Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers showed up to the White House on Thursday to celebrate their World Series run from the 2025 season.
The Dodgers needed to win Game 7 in extra innings to successfully defend their World Series title last season. A solo home run from Will Smith in the top of the 11th is all they needed for Yoshinobu Yamamoto to close the door on the Toronto Blue Jays.
"I'm thrilled to say welcome back to the White House," Trump said during Thursday's visit. "And maybe I'll see you again next year."
Trump continued, "It's truly a great - when you talk about a brand - it's one of the great brands anywhere in the world."

Not only did Trump praise the Dodgers for winning back-to-back titles, he referred to Ohtani as the best hitter and pitcher in baseball. In fact, he compared the four-time MVP to the legendary Babe Ruth.
The White House's official social media team kept that love affair going by sharing a photo of Ohtani and Trump along with two goat emojis.
MLB fans had plenty to say about Ohtani's photo with Trump.
"You cannot even imagine how angry LA Times sportswriters are right now seeing Shohei Ohtani smiling with Donald Trump," one fan said.
"Oklahoma City Thunder declining The White House invitation but The Los Angeles Dodgers accepting it is the funniest timeline yet," a second fan replied.
"This photo is gonna go crazy after Shohei Ohtani has a bad game," a third fan wrote.
"If you thought I couldn’t hate the Dodgers anymore than I already did," another fan commented.
The Dodgers will return to action this Friday night for a showdown with the New York Mets. They currently have the best record in the MLB at 65-38.
