President Trump Accused Of 'Lying' About Super Bowl Decision

President Trump will not be in attendance at Super Bowl 60 tonight.

The President of the United States attended Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans last year. President Trump watched the Philadelphia Eagles take down the Kansas City Chiefs in blowout fashion. He attended the game with his daughter, Ivanka Trump.

But President Trump will not be making the trip to San Francisco on Sunday evening. President Trump claims that the main reason for his decision is that it's too far of a trip. It's a six-plus hour trip from Washington, D.C. to San Francisco.

“It’s just too far away. I would. I’ve [gotten] great hands [at] the Super Bowl. They like me,” Trump said.

“I would go if, you know, it was a little bit shorter.”

But with the big game approaching on Sunday night, is that actually the reason?

Apparently not - at least according to some close to the White House.

A new report claims that President Trump is "lying" about his decision to skip the Super Bowl because of distance. While it is a long trip from Washington, D.C. to San Francisco, some close to President Trump reportedly "warned" him about going to the Super Bowl this year.

President Trump could have been booed - hard - at the Super Bowl in California.

Why isn't President Trump attending the game?

Was President Trump actually told not to go because he might get booed hard?

That's what a report from Zeteo suggests.

"In recent months, according to two people familiar with the situation and two sources briefed on it, several aides and advisers to the president quietly determined that the chances were rather high of Trump getting booed “big league,” at the Super Bowl, in the words of one White House official. Such a moment would instantly create a wealth of viral video clips and media coverage that administration officials would prefer to avoid," the report states.

Whatever the reason is, President Trump will not be attending Super Bowl 60 in Santa Clara, California tonight.

Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. E.T.

It'll air on NBC.
