It was unfortunately confirmed on Thursday that two United States Navy sailors were involved in an accident.

On Wednesday, a US Navy destroyer collided in the Caribbean with a supply ship. There were only minor injuries reported this week. Both sailors involved in this accident are in stable condition.

"Yesterday afternoon, the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Truxtun (DDG103) and the Supply-class fast combat support ship USNS Supply (T-AOE-6) collided during a replenishment-at-sea," a US Southern Command spokesperson told Fox News.

The cause of this crash at sea remains under investigation at this time.

Both ships involved in this accident were assigned there as part of President Donald Trump's military buildup in the Caribbean.

"The incident comes after President Donald Trump ordered a large military presence in the Southcom region to help combat drug trafficking in an operation known as Southern Spear," KTXS reports. "Around 12 vessels are currently deployed, including the USS Gerald R. Ford, the largest aircraft carrier in the world."

We're hoping no other accidents occur in the Caribbean.
