Prayers are pouring in after two U.S. hikers were found dead.

A 21-year-old New Jersey woman and an adult California man were found dead while hiking. The 21-year-old New Jersey woman was found dead on Mount Marcy — New York's tallest mountain, earlier this week. The California man was found dead on California's Mount Whitney.

The 21-year-old New Jersey woman was killed from hypothermia. She was identified as Brianna L. Mohr of Brick, New Jersey.

"The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation offers its condolences to the family," the spokesperson said.

State police added: "Mohr was showing no signs of life and was pronounced deceased near the summit of Mount Marcy. [Her] dog was uninjured and rescued.”

In California, a man was found dead, after going up Mount Whitney, despite his friend turning back, earlier in the night.

"The Inyo County Search and Rescue (SAR) team, which works under the authority of the local sheriff's office, says it was notified Monday that a hiker on the mountain was overdue," CBS News reported.

"The group says two hikers started climbing the mountain late Saturday night and kept going into Sunday. At roughly 3:30 p.m., while they were near the 12,500-foot level, one hiker decided it was safer to turn around and go back down, but the other one kept going."
