Prayers are pouring in after an NFL player was shot in San Francisco, hours after the Super Bowl.
The Seattle Seahawks topped the New England Patriots, 29-13, at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. But hours after the Super Bowl, a player for the 49ers was shot in a dispute in San Francisco. He has undergone surgery.
Keion White, who was traded from the Patriots to the 49ers in October, underwent surgery after being shot in the ankle. The 49ers announced that they "will provide further updates when appropriate."
"A preliminary investigation revealed a verbal altercation occurred between two groups inside a business," the San Francisco Police Department said in a statement. "The victim was injured when shots were fired by an unknown suspect."
No arrests have been made at this time.

White, traded from New England to San Francisco for a sixth round NFL Draft pick, totaled 16 tackles, 2.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and three tackles for loss while playing defensive end and defensive tackle in 11 games for the 49ers.
The 49ers defensive lineman is the second San Francisco player to be shot over the past year-plus. 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was shot in the chest in August of 2024.
