Prayers are pouring in after eight people have died in "horrific" U.S. snowmobile accidents this year.

An eighth person was killed in a snowmobile accident in upstate New York. The accident happened on Friday evening. A man was killed when his snowmobile collided with a tree.

"Stephen J. Banks of Cream Ridge, New Jersey, was operating a snowmobile when it failed to negotiate a curve on a trail about a half-mile behind 253 County Road 111 in Caroga Lake, according to State Police," Syracuse.com reported.

"The crash occurred at about 11:10 p.m. on Friday.

"Members of the Caroga Lake Fire Department performed life-saving measures at the scene. St. Johnsville Ambulance transported Banks to Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville, where he was pronounced dead."

It's the eighth tragic snowmobile crash in recent weeks. Several people have died in various crashes, including when snowmobiles crashed into a tree and when some crashed and fell through the ice.

Prayers are pouring in for everyone impacted.

"Such awful news," one wrote.

"Praying for them all," one fan added.

"Can't believe this. Praying for all of them," one added.

"Horrible news. Will be thinking of them all today," one shared.

Our thoughts are with the friends and family members of everyone involved in these horrible crashes.

May they rest in peace.
