There are plenty of big games on the college football schedule this Saturday, but none are bigger than Lane Kiffin’s return to Oxford as Ole Miss hosts LSU (7:30 p.m. ET, ABC). The Rebels are still up in arms over Kiffin bailing on the team and leaving for Baton Rouge after last season. This game has been circled on the calendar ever since.
Kiffin has certainly made a splash in his new gig, as LSU has outscored two opponents by a combined 96-24, including that season-opening 51-10 drubbing of Clemson. The Rebels, led by quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, opened with a squeaker over Louisville and then had an easy 41-9 win over Charlotte.
In his latest ranking of every college football team, Athlon’s Steven Lassan has LSU ranked No. 7 and Ole Miss right there at No. 9.
