Quarterback Ty Simpson was the star attraction Wednesday at Alabama’s pro day. The Crimson Tide features several other NFL draft prospects, but it’s Simpson who has been one of the most talked about players as we get closer to the 2026 NFL Draft, which takes place April 23-25 in Pittsburgh.
By all reports, Simpson looked very good working out Wednesday in front of NFL coaches and personnel execs. Most draft analysts have Simpson as the second-ranked quarterback, behind Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza. While many expect Mendoza to be the first player taken when the Las Vegas Raiders are on the clock, there have been varied predictions for Simpson. His stock seems to be rising, but he’s no lock to be taken in the first round. That said, Athlon Sports’ draft expert has the Cleveland Browns taking Simpson at No. 24 in his latest mock draft.
Yesterday’s workout may have pushed him into Round 1. Of course, it all depends which QB-needy team is willing to pull the trigger. There’s still an excellent chance he’ll be the QB2 in this draft. And so...
