Jalen Brunson’s heroics Wednesday night helped the New York Knicks win their 12th straight playoff game and, more importantly, take a 1-0 lead in the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs. So what’s next?
Brunson fought off two injury scares and scored 30, including 13 in the fourth quarter, to lead the Knicks to a 105-95 road win in Game 1. Game 2 is tonight at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio (8:30 p.m. ET, ABC).
Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs have showed a propensity to come back strong after a loss in these NBA playoffs. Wemby had 26 points and 12 assists in Game 1, but he looked a little tired coming off the Spurs’ seven-game win over the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference finals. The Spurs have already lost their home-court advantage in the series, and Game 3 is Monday night at Madison Square Garden, where the New York crowd will be at a fever pitch. So…
