Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson ended his “hold in” at training camp Tuesday when he agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension worth up to $75 million. Robinson reportedly is guaranteed $51 million and will earn an average of $22.25 million per year — making him the highest-paid running back in NFL history on a per-year average.
We’ll see how long that lasts, as the Detroit Lions are expected to sign their star running back, Jahmyr Gibbs. Gibbs has been holding in as well, and there’s a good chance he’ll receive an extension soon now that Robinson has reset the market. Robinson had 2,298 scrimmage yards and 11 total touchdowns last season. Gibbs had 1,839 scrimmage yards and 18 total touchdowns. Both are considered fantasy football studs.
