The Pittsburgh Steelers have put together a solid start to the 2026 NFL season, and the team remains firmly in contention in the AFC North. With a 4-2 record, the Steelers will now have to travel to Paris to face the New Orleans Saints in Week 7.
The Steelers will board their flight to Paris hoping to return with a third straight victory. Pittsburgh rallied late in Week 6 to beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in overtime, but the offense struggled significantly early in the game. This offensive inconsistency has been a common theme for the Steelers so far this season, but they keep finding ways to win.

Veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers has put together a solid season through six games, completing 61.4% of his passes for 1,487 yards, 12 touchdowns and five interceptions.
While Rodgers has found ways to keep the offense moving, the team has been inconsistent in its ability to generate explosive plays down the field. Michael Pittman and Roman Wilson are both currently on injured reserve, leaving Rodgers without two key weapons.
Now, the Steelers are expected to add a familiar target for their quarterback.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Steelers are expected to sign veteran receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling to their practice squad.
Valdes-Scantling spent time with the Steelers last season, but began this year with the Los Angeles Chargers.
Adding him gives the Steelers another experienced wide receiver option and a player Rodgers has shown trust in. Rodgers and Valdes-Scantling spent four years as teammates with the Green Bay Packers from 2018 to 2021. He accumulated 2,153 yards and 13 touchdowns during his time in Green Bay, recording a career-high 690 yards and six touchdowns during Rodgers’ 2020 MVP campaign.
For now, Valdes-Scantling will begin on the practice squad, but his ability as a deep threat could give Pittsburgh a useful situational weapon as the season progresses.
