DeWanna Bonner and the Phoenix Mercury are coming off a 106-100 win over the Chicago Sky on Monday, bringing their record to 12-19. Forward Alyssa Thomas led the way for Phoenix, posting game highs with 38 minutes played, 15 rebounds and 12 assists.
Newly acquired guard Kelsey Plum came off the bench in her first game with the Mercury. In 21 minutes, the 5-foot-8 guard scored 20 points on 60% shooting from the field while also going 3-for-5 from beyond the arc. Guard Kahleah Copper scored a game-high 31 points, shooting 4-for-8 from 3-point range. Forward Bonner added 14 points, eight rebounds and four assists in 31 minutes.

Bonner is now in her 16th professional season, and the 38-year-old has surpassed any expectations one could have had after being selected No. 5 overall in the 2009 WNBA Draft. The six-time All-Star has started to climb the WNBA's all-time records, as the Alabama native reached 8,000 career points last month (July 7), joining Diana Taurasi and Tina Charles in the exclusive club. On Monday, the two-time WNBA champion passed Taurasi for another all-time record.
The game against Chicago was Bonner's 566th of her illustrious career, breaking the tie with WNBA legend Diana Taurasi, who played in 565 games. Atop the list is all-time great point guard Sue Bird with 580 games played. The full top-10 list is as follows:
