The Philadelphia Phillies' top two sluggers made some history amid their dominant 15-3 win against their division rival New York Mets on Saturday night.
Coming off a 6-4 loss in the series opener, the Phillies wanted to make some noise to avoid a series loss.
The Phillies jumped on Mets' right-handed pitcher Freddy Peralta early, tagging him for three runs in two innings before an explosive offensive outbreak in the third.
They batted around the order while pushing across eight runs in the frame on the back of two home runs from Schwarber in the one inning.
Peralta was pulled after 2 2/3 after allowing 10 earned runs on 10 hits, the worst performance of his career.
Meanwhile, the Phillies kept pushing in route to 15 runs on 17 hits.
The two-time MVP Harper came up to the plate in the 5th inning while already having three hits under his belt, a single, double and home run. Harper smashed a base hit into the left field gap and rocketed his way to third base for the triple and his first career Cycle, the ninth in Philadelphia's history.

On the other hand, the 2025 MVP runner-up in Schwarber continued to show his power following his two-home run inning. In the bottom of the 7th, Schwarber crushed a ball high and deep into right field for his third home run of the game.
It will go down as one of the greatest offensive performances from a duo in major league history.
In fact, this kind of game has only happened once before, in June of 1932.
During that game, Yankees legend Tony Lazzeri hit for the cycle while Lou Gehrig hit four home runs.
The Phillies started off the 2026 season terribly, going 9-19 in their first 28 games. But the team has really seemed to turn it around, soaring to second place in the National League East Division with a 41-35 record. They have gone 32-16 under new interim manager Don Mattingly.
Meanwhile, their rivals in the Mets have not picked it up after also starting 9-19. They currently sit at the bottom of the National League East division with a 34-42 record while struggling to show any signs of life.
The Phillies historic game last night could be a complete swing for both teams as the Phillies begin of rest and the Mets are falling in the rankings.
The series finale of their first series of the season is Sunday at 7:20 p.m.
