Philadelphia Philliesthird baseman Alec Bohm has had a rollercoaster season in his seventh year with the organization. The 29-year-old got off to an extremely slow start and was even benched by interim manager Don Mattingly because of his struggles.
He started to get back on track in May but has completely fallen off again in June. Across 80 games, he has posted a .222 batting average, .277 on-base percentage, .629 OPS, nine home runs and 43 RBIs and has been a liability in Philadelphia's lineup.
Still, the Phillies are surging and now sit just 3.5 games back of the Atlanta Braves for first place in the NL East, so the pressure is on for Bohm to turn it around or risk losing his spot entirely.

Despite the underwhelming season, Bohm has still received plenty of support from Phillies fans, enough to advance to Phase 2 of All-Star Game voting for third basemen in the National League.
He is now competing head to head against Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy for the starting spot. What makes this year's All-Star Game especially meaningful for Bohm is that it is taking place in front of home fans at Citizens Bank Park.
It could also mark his last chance to be an All-Star as a Phillie. The former third overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, and there is a real chance the Phillies move on given that he has been at the center of trade rumors for nearly two years.
Unfortunately, his odds of making the team have dropped considerably. MLB announced the latest ballot update Tuesday, and Bohm has received just 40% of the votes.
Barring a last-minute turnaround, he will lose out to Muncy. There is still time, but less than two days remain for Phillies fans to vote before voting officially closes at 12:00 PM EST on Thursday.
He could still make the team as a reserve if he loses the head-to-head race, but that is unlikely given the number of more deserving options in the National League.
