Alec Bohm has fully turned around his season with the Philadelphia Phillies. After an abysmal first half, the 30-year-old has posted a .314 batting average, .373 on-base percentage, .817 OPS, three home runs and 30 RBIs across 41 games since the All-Star break.
He has hit like an All-Star since transitioning to first base, emerging as one of the more reliable hitters in the lineup during Philadelphia’s best stretch of the season.
Bohm’s emergence has transformed Philadelphia’s offense. In the month of August the Phillies were MLB’s best team, and Bohm was a significant reason why.
Ahead of Friday’s series opener, he will look to help Philadelphia close the gap between them and the Atlanta Braves. If the Phillies are able to sweep Atlanta in the four-game set, they can tie them for first place in the National League East.

With Bohm’s career on the field turning around, he has also finally closed a troubling chapter in his personal life.
Back in March, Bohm entered a legal battle with his parents, Daniel and Lisa Bohm, accusing them of financial mismanagement, fraud and taking his career earnings for their own personal use.
Entering a legal battle with his own parents is an extraordinarily difficult situation, and it clearly reflected in his struggles during the first half. Now, Bohm has decided to put it behind him.
Charlotte Varnes of The Athletic reported ahead of Friday’s first pitch against the Braves that Bohm and his parents have decided to settle outside of court for an undisclosed amount.
“Six months after Alec Bohm sued his parents, Daniel and Lisa Bohm, for alleged financial mismanagement, the parties settled the matter out of court,” Varnes wrote.
Bohm is entering free agency after this season and it remains unclear whether he will re-sign with Philadelphia or sign elsewhere.
What is clear is that whoever negotiates his next contract, his parents will have no influence over it as he handles his business through his own representation.
