If LeBron James has any interest in playing a round of golf with one of the PGA Tour’s best members, he’s in luck because he just received an invitation.
James launched a YouTube channel this month that’s focused on golf. His channel debuted with a video of the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers on a golfing trip in Scotland. The video includes a handful of notable current and former NBA players, such as Kevin Love, J.R. Smith, Richard Jefferson and Tristan Thompson.
Five-time PGA Tour winner Sam Burns shared his thoughts on James’ recent interest in golf. As you’d imagine, he’s thrilled about the NBA legend showing his sport some love.
“I think as a fan of golf, I mean, to have LeBron James be a supporter and obviously growing the game is great,” Burns told TMZ. “He has such an impact on so many people around the world. So it’s great for our sport. It’s great for what he’s doing for it. And we’re happy to see him out there enjoying some golf.”
When asked if he’d play a round of golf with the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, Burns replied, “Oh, yeah. I’d love to.”

LeBron James is trying to help out the next generation of golfers.
James discussed his passion for golf during a recent interview with Boardroom co-founder Rich Kleiman. His hope is to make the game more accessible for the youth.
“My goal is to open doors for kids that look like me growing up in the inner city, to be able to go to country clubs at 7, 8, 9 years old and be able to go out and caddy or be able to go out and rent clubs and be able to be coached and play the game of golf,” James said. “And it’s not because they can’t afford it. It’s because they have a passion of wanting to play that sport.”
That right there sounds like a winning formula for James and the game of golf as a whole.
