Marshall Manning, the son of Peyton Manning, made his high school football debut this Thursday against Brentwood Academy.
Manning, a member of the 2030 recruiting class, has a long way to go before he can follow in his father’s footsteps. That being said, he’s hoping to develop his skills at Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Prior to the start of the 2026 season, Baylor School’s staff announced that Manning will be the backup for now. To be fair, he’s a freshman still adjusting to the speed of high school football.
Even though Marshall didn’t start the game for Baylor School, he entered the game in the second quarter and immediately completed a pass to Antwaun ‘Cornbread’ Adams. It was a nice pass near the right sideline, albeit he didn’t face any pressure since he was rolling out of the pocket.
Unsurprisingly, this quick thrown from Manning went viral on social media.

Immediately after Manning completed his first high school pass, NFL media members and fans went on social media to share their thoughts.
“Could’ve told you he was Peyton’s son just by watching him jog after the play,” former ESPN star David Pollack said.
“Marshall even has Peyton’s jog,” NFL reporter Cody Roark commented.
“Just 7 more years of tanking and we can finally get our guy,” a New York Jets fan joked.
“Wish y’all won’t do this kid like you did Arch. But that won’t happen,” another person wrote.
Could Marshall Manning develop into an NFL quarterback? Of course, but it’s way too early to start analyzing his ceiling at the next level.
