Penta has made his intentions clear ahead of his reported path toward Roman Reigns and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Speaking on the latest episode of Lucha Libre AAA, Penta addressed the champion directly and made a point of highlighting one major difference between them: he built his career without relying on a faction.
"You have never faced a wrestler like Penta, you've never been in front of a man like Penta, a man who has thought for everything, even his life, to gain everything I've gained in my career," the former AEW star said.
The former Intercontinental Champion then took a direct shot at Reigns and his Bloodline roots.
"Roman, I've never need a family or a faction or a group to accomplish my objectives. Penta has fought for himself and for all his people, that is Penta."
Penta still made it clear that he respected Reigns as a wrestler, but his message became more direct when he discussed their potential meeting in Mexico City.
"I respect you as a wrestler, but when I win this tournament, I'm going straight to Mexico City, I'm gonna see you face to face and show you who is Penta."
The comments came as Penta continued his run in the No. 1 Contender's Tournament created for WWE's upcoming return to Mexico City.
Penta Expected to Face Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship

Rey Mysterio, serving as AAA General Manager, announced that Monday Night RAW would return to Arena CDMX on September 14 for the first time in 15 years. The special show will feature a tournament involving wrestlers from RAW, SmackDown, and AAA, with the winner earning a World Heavyweight Championship match against Reigns.
Penta has already advanced after defeating Laredo Kid on the August 10 episode of RAW. La Parka has also moved into the semifinals, while the remaining first-round matches are scheduled for August 17.
Dragon Lee is set to face El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., while Rey Fénix will take on El Fiscal.
Despite the tournament still being unfinished, Penta has emerged as the reported favorite to win it. "WrestleVotes Radio, via Fightful Select," reported that the former AEW star is expected to advance and challenge "the OTC" in Mexico City.
Reigns has held the World Heavyweight Championship since defeating CM Punk at WrestleMania 42. Since then, "The Head of the Table" has successfully defended the title against opponents including Jacob Fatu and Seth Rollins.
A Penta-Reigns championship match would therefore give WWE a distinctly different matchup, particularly with Penta's latest comments setting up a personal angle between the two.
There is also reportedly a plan for LA Knight to become Reigns' next major challenger after the Mexico City event, with a title match being targeted for Money in the Bank on October 10.
For now, though, Penta's attention remains on the tournament. If he gets through the remaining field, his promise to meet Reigns face-to-face in Mexico City could become a reality.
