It has now been well over one month since Drake Maye last saw NFL action for the New England Patriots. That game, however, won’t be easy to move on from, considering how it was the biggest game of his career thus far.
On Feb. 8, Maye and the Patriots lost to the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl 60. Maye completed 27 passes for 295 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. It was far from enough, though, as the Seahawks dominated the Patriots, 29-13.
It was a memorable second NFL season for Maye, who finished second in the MVP race behind Matthew Stafford of the Los Angeles Rams. Nevertheless, there’s no denying that his campaign ended in heartbreak.

Maye was out and about on Thursday night amid the NFL offseason. The 23-year-old decided to catch an NBA game with his wife, Ann Michael Maye.
Maye, a native of Huntersville, North Carolina, and a former North Carolina Tar Heels star, was back home on Thursday. He came to support the Charlotte Hornets at Spectrum Center in their game against the New York Knicks.
Maye was acknowledged during the game. The Pats QB got up and started throwing footballs into the crowd.
Maye drew a lot of attention on social media after putting that arm to use.
“Superb Troll 👏👏👏 Drake Maye already got better arm accuracy in the stands than half the league under pressure 😂😂😂😂” a comment on X read.
“DRAKE MAYE HAS A CANNON! 🚀🏈 The Patriots QB is back home in Charlotte for Knicks/Hornets and he’s literally launching footballs into the nosebleeds. The arm talent is just different. 🤯” another said.
“Shoulder looking great my glorious king ☺️” a supporter wrote.
“He is him😜” declared a fan.
“MY QUARTERBACK,” said another.
“Imagine just hanging out talking to people around you at an NBA game and getting drilled in the head by a random football thrown in the crowd by Drake Maye 😭” a reaction read.
Maye still has some time to enjoy the offseason. Training camp for New England doesn’t start until July.
