As if a 1-2 start to the season wasn’t bad enough, the New England Patriots will be lacking firepower for their Week 4 matchup against the Buffalo Bills.
The Patriots have been without All-Pro wide receiver A.J. Brown for the past two games due to a high-ankle sprain. He won’t be ready to play this weekend since he’s currently on injured reserve. That leaves Romeo Doubs and Mack Hollins as the top options in the passing game.
Moving over to the defensive side of the football, Mike Vrabel won’t have No. 1 cornerback Christian Gonzalez due to a shoulder injury. That’s a huge blow as Gonzalez is considered one of, if not the best cornerback in the NFL.
Additionally, the Patriots will be without standout defensive lineman Christian Barmore due to injury. He had a strip sack during the team’s win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2.
“That’s what the situation is, there’s nothing we can do about it,” Vrabel said in regards to the injuries. “We can make sure that the guys that are playing are ready. That happens every week in the National Football League. I’m looking forward to seeing the guys that are going to play in there.”

It might be do-or-die for the Pats.
If the Patriots lose to the Bills this weekend, they’ll trail them by three full games. That might be too big of a hurdle to overcome.
With that being said, the pressure is on Patriots quarterback Drake Maye to rediscover his 2025 form and lead his squad to victory Sunday. He’s been putrid so far this season, completing 63.7% of his passes for 585 yards with one touchdown and six interceptions
Kickoff for the Patriots-Bills game is at 1 p.m. ET.
