Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes have shared much of their journey with fans. This week, Brittany gave followers a look back at the early days of their relationship.
On her Instagram story, she posted a photo of their dog and added a Valentine’s Day message. She shared a personal note, writing that Patrick gave her Steel for Valentine’s Day 10 years ago.
"Don't forget to also treat your furry friends this Valentine's Day!! Fun fact, @patrickmahomes got me Steel for Valentines Day 10 years ago 🥹💕" Brittany wrote.
The couple are proud pet owners to two dogs, Steel and Silver. The dogs even have their own Instagram page, @steel_silver_mahomes. Steel, a Pit Bull, joined their lives while they were still in college. Despite Patrick’s career with the Kansas City Chiefs, Steel was named after the Pittsburgh Steelers because Brittany grew up as a fan.
Silver, a Cane Corso, became part of the family in early 2019.
Patrick and Brittany began dating in 2012 while attending Whitehouse High School in Texas. They stayed together through college and long distance. Patrick later entered the NFL, and Brittany pursued professional soccer.
The couple married in March 2022 in Maui. They now have three children: Sterling Skye, Patrick “Bronze” III, and Golden Raye.

The post comes during a challenging stretch for Patrick. The Chiefs missed the playoffs after a 6–11 season. Mahomes suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 15 and is now rehabbing with hopes of returning for the 2026 opener.
Through it all, Brittany’s post showed how their story started with a special Valentine’s Day gift.
