Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs will square off against Maxx Crosby and the Las Vegas Raiders this Sunday in a battle of undefeated AFC West teams.
Despite being less than a year removed from a torn ACL, Mahomes has looked really sharp for the Chiefs. He’s completing 68.4% of his passes this season for 812 yards with seven touchdowns and two interceptions.
Crosby, who also entered this season with concerns about his health, has 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble in three games. The Raiders rank No. 1 in the league in turnover differential due to their relentless mentality on defense.
With the Chiefs and Raiders set to meet this Sunday, Mahomes made it clear that he has nothing but respect for Crosby.
“He’s one of the best competitors in the league,” Mahomes said, via Pro Football Talk. “That’s where the respect comes from, we have that mutual want to be the best on the field when we’re out there. You go against those guys, it brings out the best in you. There’s a ton of respect for how he plays the game of football, how he competes and the man he is. When I step on that football field I’m going to need my best because he’s going to bring his best, and that’s when you get the best games out there.”

Mahomes has the Raiders’ number.
While it’s totally possible the Raiders win this Sunday, history isn’t on their side.
Since taking over as the starting quarterback of the Chiefs, Mahomes has a 13-2 record against the Raiders.
Can Raiders first-year coach Klint Kubiak improve to 4-0 and take down Mahomes in the process? We’ll find out this Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET.
