It's been 100 days since Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes began rehabbing from his ACL surgery. He shared a new update today.
Taking to Instagram, Mahomes shared a video of himself dropping back and throwing the football. His left leg was in a sleeve and he wasn't exactly slinging it like a live NFL game, but he wasn't immobile either.
"Day by Day! Felt Great being able to throw the ball around today!" Mahomes wrote.
Fixed or Washed?
NFL fans who saw the video quickly weighed in on whether Mahomes will be ready for the 2026 NFL season.
"Yeah I take back everything I ever said about whether he’ll miss time," one user said on X.
"This throw looked awful. Wow he’s cooked," another wrote dismissively.
"100 days post ACL surgery and already back to dropping back and throwing is the most Patrick Mahomes thing that could possibly happen. The man treats recovery the same way he treats fourth quarter deficits and Kansas City should not be worried at all," wrote a third.
"Going to be a great backup to Fields."
"Don’t fool yourselves into thinking this man is gonna miss significant time."

Mahomes' 2025 campaign ended after 14 weeks and a 6-8 record. The team itself finished the year 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first time in over a decade.
But the start of the 2026 offseason has been a good one for the Chiefs. They've re-signed star tight end Travis Kelce and added Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III.
If the Chiefs make a few more additions and have a good draft, they could be back in the playoffs in short order. Maybe even the Super Bowl discussion again.
