Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs to a 22-6 win over the Los Angeles Chargers Sunday. Fresh off the bye week, he was 23-for-30 for 272 yards, no touchdowns and one interception. He connected with eight different receivers and rushed for 16 yards.
Mahomes was sharp early, going 15-for-19 for 179 yards, no touchdowns and an interception in the first half. The interception was one he’d probably like back as he was flushed out of the pocket and threw it into a horde of defenders in the end zone. The Chiefs led 19-3 at the half.
The offense didn’t do much in the second half, but it didn’t need to as the defense had four sacks and forced two turnovers in the game. Mahomes hit wide receiver Xavier Worthy seven times for 73 yards – both season highs.
Mahomes tied Tom Brady for the fastest quarterback to reach 100 wins in NFL history. Both quarterbacks did it in their 131st start. Mahomes is now 100-31 as a starter. The Chiefs will travel to Seattle to face the defending Super Bowl-champion Seattle Seahawks on Sunday Night Football in Week 7.
