The Kansas City Chiefs improved to 4-0 with a 30-27 win Sunday over the Las Vegas Raiders on the road. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes was pressured often, going 15-for-30 for 225 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. Mahomes kept his composure after seeing two of his top receivers leave with injuries. Rashee Rice left early in the game with a hamstring injury, and Tyquan Thornton suffered a gruesome dislocated ankle in the fourth quarter.
Through four games, he has 1,037 passing yards (10th), nine touchdowns (tied for third) against two interceptions. He remained in the top spot of Pro Football Focus‘ quarterback rankings for Week 5.

Mahomes’ 87.8 PFF grade ranks fifth. His 6.7% big-time throw rate ranks first, while his 1.3% turnover-worthy play rate is fourth-lowest among the 26 quarterbacks with at least 100 dropbacks so far this year. He has operated with an average depth of target of 7.5 yards and an average time to throw of 2.66 seconds. On the ground, Mahomes added 46 scramble yards and 1 rushing touchdowns, earning a 75.9 rushing grade, which ranks seventh among qualified QBs.
Mahomes and the Chiefs are on a bye in Week 5 and will welcome the Los Angeles Chargers to town Oct. 18.
