It has been quite a busy day for Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs. As the tampering period for NFL free agency opened on Monday, the Chiefs were among the busiest teams across the league.

The big news to come out of Kansas City is the signing of reigning Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III from the Seattle Seahawks. The Chiefs snagged the 25-year-old running back on a three-year, $45 million deal.

The Chiefs also brought back Travis Kelce on a one-year, $12 million extension. The future Hall of Famer shunned retirement again in the offseason and is set for another year with the squad.

The Chiefs are far from done, though. On Monday night, news emerged that the team had agreed to terms with wideout Tyquan Thornton on a two-year deal worth $11 million. According to NFL reporter Mike Garafolo, the extension has a max value of $14 million.

Mahomes caught wind of the news and shared his immediate reaction. The three-time Super Bowl-winning QB took to social media to share the NFL’s post on Thornton, along with a one-word message.

“Yessssir!!💪🏽💪🏽” Mahomes wrote on his Instagram story, tagging Thornton.

Thornton was one of Mahomes’ top weapons last season. In his first year with the Chiefs, the former Baylor Bears star registered 438 yards and three touchdowns on 19 catches.

Thornton played 14 games in 2025 (four starts). He joined the Chiefs in the offseason after spending his first three years with the New England Patriots.

Apart from Thornton, the Chiefs also reportedly agreed deals with defensive lineman Khyiris Tonga (three years, $21 million) and safety Alohi Gilman (three years, $24.75 million).
