After a down 2025, it's a good day to be a Kansas City Chiefs fan.
KC's dynasty came to a screeching halt last season when it posted the first losing season of the Andy Reid era and Patrick Mahomes went down with a torn ACL in Week 15.
But in a offseason that's already seen the team make the tough decision of trading All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie, some positive news arrived at the doorstep of Chiefs Kingdom to start the week.

Chiefs to add Kenneth Walker III, re-sign Travis Kelce
According to multiple reports, Chiefs superstar tight end Travis Kelce plans to return to the Chiefs for a 14th season and his reps have told interested teams that he's staying in Kansas City.
Meanwhile, the team has seemingly solved its running back problem by signing Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III to a three-year, $45 million max contract with nearly $29 million guaranteed (the highest-paid FA deal at the position in NFL history).
That news was well-received by KC's quarterback Patrick Mahomes who took to social media with an immediate reaction to the franchise's newest addition: "LETS GO!! 💪🏽💪🏽" the QB said. Others joined in on the fun as well.
Chiefs fans react to Mahomes' Kenneth Walker tweet
"WE FINALLY GOT YOU A GOOD RB 😭🔥" a fan sobbed.
"KENNETH WALKER WITH EB & Demarco Murray … I used to pray for times like this. 😭😭🥹🥹" another posted.
"why is this making me emo, what happened to me 😭" a user replied. "I’m so excited to see what this duo can do."
"Patrick Mahomes approves!" another person exclaimed.
"Somebody in Kansas City is excited about their new teammate," another user commented.
Walker gives the Chiefs something they haven't really had outside of a couple years of peak Isiah Pacheco — a reliable, tone-setting run game.
And now with Kansas City all but backing out of the Jeremiyah Love sweepstakes, it'll be interesting to see where the Notre Dame star lands in the upcoming NFL Draft.
